Dark Horse Window Tinting car window tinting FAQ

Here at Dark Horse Window Tinting we pride ourself in not only our window tinting abilities, but our customer relationships as well! We have compiled some FAQ’s that we get from our valued Van Zandt County customers.

Car window tinting can take anywhere from 1 hour to 5 hours depending on the vehicle. Dark Horse Window Tinting use an appointment system to ensure our customers are not rushed like some other “production line” tint businesses out there that focus on the maximum amount of car tints a day.

The KEPLER lifetime warranty films installed by Dark Horse Window Tinting cover against cracking, bubbling, delamination, and fading for the life of the film. So if you have any issues, you can bring it straight back to us!

Factory window tint involves a pigment that’s applied to the glass during the manufacturing process, so it doesn’t have the ability to reduce UV radiation or heat. Kepler window film adheres to the surface of the glass, providing you with such benefits as UV protection, advanced heat reduction and glare reduction.

Tinted windows do not require special cleaners, but it’s best to avoid glass cleaner with ammonia or scraping the tint with a blade, as it can damage the window tint. Here at Dark Horse Window Tinting, we recommend cleaning your tinted windows be cleaned with a soft, non-abrasive cloth for the best results.

Yes. Because of the modern adhesive systems on the films we use here at Dark Horse Window Tinting, you can have your windows tinted even if the Van Zandt County weather is freezing outside. However, in adverse conditions, the curing time might take longer. Our professional installers consider the weather during the installation process.
If windows are rolled down too soon after the installation, the window tint can peel off.  To avoid this, at Texas we recommend keeping your windows up for at least 7 days.

If you notice that your window tint is turning purple or bubbling, this can occur from exposure to UV rays from the sun and is a result of the film’s adhesive failing to work properly. To avoid this, you can purchase a brand-name window tint like Kepler. We offer several different options that utilize a high-temperature adhesive system and reject up to 99% of UV rays, protecting against fading and bubbling so your vehicle can stay fresh in the Texas weather.

This can depend on the installation vehicle and the area. We travel to many main dealers in the Texas area and serve a wide variety of vehicle manufactures.
